Job Description
We are seeking to hire an Associate Attorney to join a boutique commercial and construction litigation practice. The position offers opportunities for active litigation work, hands-on training, and background support responsibilities such as drafting pleadings, legal research, case file management, and strategy development. This is a busy and dynamic practice offering excellent growth potential.
We are looking for a motivated, problem-solving Associate Attorney with 0–4 years of experience. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent law school graduate or early-career attorney seeking meaningful, hands-on experience along with direct mentorship in a specialized and engaging practice area.
About the Firm
The firm represents contractors, subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and property owners in a broad range of construction-related matters. As a small boutique practice, the firm fosters close, client-focused relationships, often working closely with clients and their families to resolve complex and unique legal issues.
Associates are given substantial responsibility, early client interaction, and courtroom exposure, supported by structured training and experienced supervision to ensure professional development and success.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and legal analysis.
- Draft clear and precise legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence tailored to various practice areas.
- Participate in negotiations with opposing counsel or stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Maintain detailed records of case activities, correspondence, and legal documentation within the law office management system.
- Stay informed about current laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions affecting construction law.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required.
- Licensed in Florida or preparing to take the bar exam within the year.
- 0–4 years of litigation experience (construction law experience can be helpful but is not necessary).
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce well-organized legal documents and correspondence.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in legal drafting and research tasks.
- Prior experience working in a law office setting or legal administrative role is preferred.
- Ability to effectively negotiate and communicate complex legal concepts clearly and professionally.
